We pick the book
Your code, reader type and clue tropes come through on the order. We check your Read shelf if you shared one, pick a book from that shelf at that heat, and steer around anything you noted.

Unwrap it
It arrives in paper with the clues on the tag. Deluxe dates come in a box with goodies from the shop. Open it when you're ready, then come tell us if we got it right.

Questions people ask
What if I already own the book?
Leave a note at checkout with anything you own or don't want, and we'll steer around it. If it still happens, bring it in unopened and we'll swap it.
Can I choose the heat level?
Yes. Every shelf comes in five heat levels, Vanilla to Ghost Pepper. Pick it on the product page, or take the quiz and it sets the heat for you.
Paperback or hardcover?
Your choice. Every date comes as a paperback ($19.99) or a hardcover ($32.99). Hardcover picks depend on what we have on the shelf in hardcover, so the pool is a little smaller.
What's in the deluxe box?
The wrapped book plus a few goodies from the shop, packed in a box. Deluxe paperback is $28.99 and deluxe hardcover is $38.99. The goodies change with the seasons.
How do you know I haven't read it?
The quiz asks for a Goodreads, StoryGraph or Fable link, plus books you've loved and authors you collect. If your shelves are public we check your Read shelf before we wrap. Only our staff see any of it.
Can I send one as a gift?
Yes. Add the recipient's address at checkout and a gift message in the order note. The clue tag goes on the outside, so it's a surprise for them too.
Can I pick one up in the shop?
Yes. Choose pickup at checkout and it'll be wrapped and waiting at the counter in Hayden, usually within a day.
